10 REASONS WHY • 4×4 Fuso Canter Expedition Vehicle Chassis

Good evening guys, from Beverly
Massachusetts. We are laid up. We’re not going anywhere because our Espar d-5
furnace took a dump and I’m waiting for some parts to fix it but this is also
good opportunity to make a video we’ve been wanting to produce for a while!…..We
are gonna talk a little bit about why we ended up buying a FUSO chassis. And we
spent about 18 months from the time we decided we were gonna buy an expedition
vehicle until we purchased one. Since we travel full-time, we’re able to go all
around the country really looking at different EVs and the options that are
out there and we kept coming back to the Fuso chassis! And regardless of what went
on the back of it, we have decided Fuso is the way for us to go and
after being in it for just a little over a hundred days now, I have to say we’re
really happy with the chassis!…. Definitely! So before we get started on our list, make sure you hit that SUBSCRIBE button so you can follow our travels and
adventure but let’s jump right in!…. Number 1…. The simplicity of all of the systems
on this chassis are unparalleled! Perfect example, the manual locking hubs and good
old-fashioned manual transmission! So really time tested and proven technology
that you can fix and use anywhere! Number 2….The engine runs off of diesel!
Yes! That is beneficial when you’re looking at building an expedition
vehicle with global capabilities because it allows your camper to be a single
fuel source. Meaning your stove can run off of diesel and your furnace can run
off a diesel….. Number 3….We wanted at least a few of the basic modern
conveniences like: Power windows, power locks and air conditioning….For
Number 4 we’re talking about the suspension! A very tried and true improvement
systems here as well. Straight axles, leaf springs all the way
around and we are also very impressed with the availability of accessories
here! For example our truck is equipped with the earth cruiser, super single
wheels which in the front is great but more so in the back it eliminates the
dual rear wheel and the risk of rocks getting jammed between the tires!
Another added bonus were these parabolic Springs from earth cruiser as well. All
of which dramatically improved the ride quality..Number five….Four-wheel drive! So with the FUSO Chassis, something that was really important to us was that it was
four-wheel drive from the factory and furthermore it’s part-time four-wheel
drive which means less wear and tear and better gas mileage! The reason it was
important for us specifically is that we don’t like to be held back by any
weather we might encounter and we like to go to awesome locations regardless of
what the road looks like to get there! For Number 6, we’re talking about
emissions. In 2008 vehicles across the board started requiring ultra-low sulfur
diesel for their engines and…. Diesel exhaust fluid! Our intentions are to
drive this vehicle around the world and those two products are not readily
available in developing countries. So that means we would have been restricted
as to where we can go. In 2007, that was the last year, we were very calculated
about this. That we could get a truck that did not require ultra-low sulfur
diesel or DEF Fluid…. Number 7: The availability of parts and service. So
Mitsubishi truck is available globally! You can get parts and service everywhere
but… You take that even a step farther because Mitsubishi truck is now owned by
Daimler. And they have parts and services even more extensively! So we can get
parts when we are able to fix it ourselves and when not, we’re able to
find service just about anywhere in the world that we can drive this thing!…. Number 8 has to do with money. Because the
Fuso in the grand scheme of things is a very affordable chassis! Ours is a 2007
model year. It had about 37,000 miles on it and we bought the truck and the
camper for $88,000. Number 9: The FUSO’s cab over design! So we’re not going to show you today. But… This cab actually folds forward and
allows you to have access to the engine, making it really easy to work on! And
then, with the chassis itself, everything is within reach making it easily
serviceable!…. Number 10: Happens to be for better or worse! The Fuso chassis is
extremely small! We have intentions of traveling places that were built before
automobiles and this chassis… Our truck specifically is just over 20 feet long
and 10 and a half feet tall. Meaning we can get into the tightest of places and
parking lots. Piece of cake guys!!…Thanks for joining us
today. Hope you guys enjoyed this video about the 10 reasons we bought a FUSO
chassis….. Yeah! If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments
below! Also on our channel, we have a full-blown tour of the camper as well!
But I know you already hit that SUBSCRIBE button, so this video is a wrap!
Thanks for watching!…Bye!
