2019 Best Dual-Cab 4WD Ute for Cabin & Technology | carsales

Traditionally tough on the outside, these
modern utes pack plenty of tech and comfort inside, more than some passenger cars struggle
to match. We all know utes are made to haul a load but
the best ute must also have the same comfort and technology as the family SUV. Here we look at comfort and technology. The highly specified utes on test offering
much the same safety and connectivity as the family car. Jumping in the SsangYong Musso, I’m actually
really surprised. I had pretty low expectations to be honest. I really like this interior. What I really like about the Amarok is the
quality of presentation. Everything is really beautifully laid out,
the seats are superbly comfortable. However, the dash is hard touch, but it doesn’t
detract from its overall sense of quality. Second row amenity in some of the utes is
actually pretty bad, no air vents. Some of them don’t even have an armrest
and there’s one entrant here that doesn’t even have curtain airbags. Considering it’s around $10,000 cheaper
than any other car here, the Triton ticks all the boxes for technology, for safety. It’s even one of the few cars that’s got
Apple Car Play. So the Hilux is not the newest or the best
looking here to be honest, but it’s really practical. This cabin has got dual-glove boxes, and these
cup holders that everyone is fawning over. After facing our judges’ scrutiny, the most
comfortable and well-connected ute on test was the Mercedes Benz X Class. Our judges praised the Mercedes Benz’s ergonomics,
comfort and driver assistance technology, as well as its SUV-like seating, awarding
it the highest number of points in this category. To find out how our field handled towing and
