AFN Okinawa News: School Bus Safety

AFN Okinawa The transportation safety office on Okinawa
provides school bus safety training, to students at Bob Hope Primary School
on Kadena Air Base. The students learn important
safety procedures, such as keeping the isle ways clear, how to properly wear a seatbelt
and how to evacuate in case of an emergency. Kindergartener Miya Goodwine tells us
a little bit about what she learned. When people see you, you have to wave
your hand so people can see you, when you walk across the street. Transportation specialist Delane Rivenbark, describes how it feels
to offer this training. Well, it’s a great feeling for us
to come out, because we know we’re teaching some
good safety disciplines for the students, and we know that after that,
they’re more well equipped, to deal with situations on the bus. Delane also said, the bus safety training
is given twice a year, at all 13 Department of Defense Dependents
Schools on the island. Lance Corporal Malcolm Payne,
