Aine Denari on ZF’s Level 2+ Solutions for Passenger Cars

What we are really focusing on this year are the range of L2+ solutions
that we as ZF can offer. Over the course of the last several years,
in general most companies have become a little bit more pragmatic in their approach. As we think about L3, where we really have
to think about handover scenarios from and to the driver, it becomes more
and more difficult. And so, here at ZF, we really focus on L2+,
for we are still on taking the driver out of the loop completely, but we are making
sure that we have a safety and redundancy at all times. And we are adding all
of the comfort functionality. So we have a very pragmatic solution and so
that enables us to have an incremetial approach over time to add more and more functionality
in the most cost-effective way. For L4 robo-taxis actually, we have a company
that we have a majority ownership taken, called 2getthere. And later this year, in fact,
we will have a L4 single lane routes in production. Of course, as we think about the L2+, we will
have a series production vehicle on the road, again later this year, with a major Asian
manufacturer. That is a full L2+ suite
of products and solutions. And then of course we have various other solutions that
will be coming to the market over the course of 21, 22, 23 with increasing
functionality as we go.
