Gran Canaria airport to your hotel: Taxi, bus, shuttle or rental car?

In this video we’re gonna have a look at
the best way for you to get from the airport in Gran Canaria to your hotel or
destination. We are going to have a look at all the different options. We’re gonna have a
look at the pros the cons, the prices and of course how long it’s gonna take. PUBLIC BUS The first way to get from the airport in Gran Canaria up to your hotel is to take
the public bus or the public transportation. Do know that all the
arrivals in the airport are basically in the basement level. You will have
to go up a few stairs and from there you can take the public buses. These are the
Global buses. They are blue and you will find 5 different bus stops if you just walk on the top level to the other side of the parking lot. So let’s have a
quick look at the prices. If you want to go to Las Palmas it will cost you around
2 euros and will be 35 minutes driving. Bahia Feliz s is around 3 euros and
will be 25 minutes driving. San agustin is 3.5 euros and thirty
minutes driving. Maspalomas is around 4 euros and 50 minutes driving. Arguineguin and Anfi is 5 euros and 55 minutes driving. Puerto Rico is
5.5 euros and 50 minutes driving.
Playa del Cura is 6.35 euro and 50 minutes driving. Taurito and Morgan are
6.35 and it will take you about 65 to 100 minutes (so 1 hour to 1.5
hours driving). So just for you to know the public bus transportation in Gran
Canaria is actually quite good and quite modern. Just keep in mind if you’re going
to Las Palmas, you might have to transfer onto another bus there to get close to
your destination. So maybe in this case it’s not ideal. Also if you’re going to
places like Puerto Rico or Taurito and Mogan, which are quite hilly, your bus
will just stop in the center and then you will have to climb the hill with all
your luggage. So also in this case I would not advise it
and also in other cases it might stop quite far away from your hotel. So you
will have to walk quite a bit. For this reason maybe not the best choice. SHUTTLE The next option to get from the Gran Canaria airport to your hotel or resort is to take a shuttle bus or a resort shuttle. If you want to take a shuttle bus then
do no you first have to contact your contact desk. You will find this on the
email you will receive (after booking). All these can be found close to the arrivals on the right-hand side are on the left hand side depending
a little bit where you are. You can contact the desk there and they will
tell you what bus and where to find it. So do you know that there is no shuttle
going to Las Palmas. So this is not an option for going to Las Palmas. If you
want to go to Bahia Feliz it’s about 6 euros and it will take you about 1
hour with extra time. San Agustin is 5.5 euros and
it will take you about 1.5 hours with extra time. Maspalomas is about
1.5 hours. The shuttle will take you to your hotel. So I want to be clear
about this, it will take you to your own hotel… not to a bus stop! So this is why
it’s taking a little bit longer. It’s 1.5 hour and cost 5.5 euros. Arguineguin and Anfi 5.5 euros and 1.5 hours more or less driving. Puerto Rico is 10 euros and it will also be
1.5 hours more or less. Playa del Cura there is no bus going
there, no shuttle bus service at the moment that I am aware of. Taurito and Mogan will take about 1.5 hours to 2 hours to get you
there and the shuttle bus will cost 13 euros. The resort shuttle or the shuttle
bus, they will normally take a little bit longer driving but they will actually
drop you off at your hotel and not at some random bus stop. So all in all,
because you don’t have to do any walking or lugging your luggage with you, you will be be at the same time at the hotel (compared to bus). Do you know that they will always take care of you. They will always make sure you
get to your destination even if you are arriving a little bit late.
I use these services quite often (the shuttle buses). You can find a link on my
website that is checkedholidays.com/links to the company I am using at
this moment and the company I am very happy with. You also find other useful
links and other information there as well. TAXI The next option is to take a taxi. This one you can also find on the same level
as the shuttle buses. So just where you arrive walk outside and you will find a
row of taxis standing there ready to take you anywhere on the island. The
prices you can find at the airport (I’m going to go a little bit in more in
detail after this which is very important), these prices are not locked in. These are just the prices I got from the local information there and do know that
they are not locked in. They can go up depending on if there’s a
traffic jam or if it’s a delay. They’re also two prices one for the day
and one for the nighttime and the weekend. Las Palmas is 28 euros and 33
euros in the night or in the evening. Bahia Feliz is 29 euros or 34 euros. San
Augustin is 29 or 34 euros. Maspalomas is 34 euros or 40 euros. Arguineguin and Anfi is 34 euros or 40 euros.
Puerto Rico is 50 euros or 59 euros. Playa del Cura is 50 euros or 59 euros. Taurito and Mogan is 54 or 64 euros in the night time or in the weekend. So
there’s two possibilities for these prices that I want you to know. You can
either take the taxi directly at the airport or you can reserve it online. I
always do the latter one. So I always take the the reservation online because
you know your price is going to be locked in. You also know you don’t have
to pay like extra for night or weekend rates. However the price standard is
maybe 1, 2 or 3 euros more expensive but just this whole knowing
that it’s going to be fine. That you’re not gonna have to pay more for traffic
jams, extra rates or if your taxi driver can’t find a way. For all of these
reasons I’ll always book online before. Also if you wanna have child seats I would also have a look there or if you’re
traveling more than 4 people (because the taxis at the airport only take
4 people). If you’re travelling more than 4 people
I would definitely book your taxi online and let them know that you’re more than
four people so you can get a better rate. RENTAL CAR So another great way is to get a rental
car at the airport. I can definitely
advice this. I always do this and the cars here are very cheap. In general I pay
maybe less than 15 euros per day for a good car and I always take the
all-inclusive insurance. You can have it even cheaper you can have 9 or
maybe 10 euros (without fully comprehensive insurance) a day. So if you don’t mind driving
I can definitely advise getting a rental car. Also for this you can get a link on
my website and I will be making a separate video as well where I explain
you how and where I get my car. I don’t say it’s complicated but there is a lot
of kind of dodgy companies out there that I want you to avoid booking with.
All of this you can see on your screen right now there should be a link to this
video on your screen right now. So I really hope this video helped you and I
hope you will have a great time in Gran Canaria. If you have any questions you
can also write them in the comments at any time below.
