How To Get Rid Of Hard Water Spots – Jeep Renegade – Chemical Guys

Whats up guys welcome back to the
Detail Garage. So a common question we get is, what is the
easiest way to remove water spots. This Jeep has been sitting outside in front
of the sprinklers and it has water spots all over the passenger side of car. So what we’re gonna do is show you the easiest
way to remove it using some Water Spot Remover Gel. What this is, is a citrus based chemical that
is going to get underneath the water spots and take it off to bring back that smooth
finish without harming the surface. Before we start applying this to the surface
it is important to clean the area. We already washed this car but the water spots
have started to etch the paint. You can hear it is pretty rough even though
it has already been cleaned there is just this junk stuck in the paint. So I’ll tape off a small section to show you
guys the difference between the gel side and the non gel side. The Water Spot Remover Gel can be used on
painted surfaces, headlights, glass or pretty much anything but plastic or rubber. First you want to clean the surface such as
a car wash which we have already done. Next I’ll shake it up and using an applicator
I’ll apply it. We recommend using gloves because this is
a citrus based chemical that you don’t want on your hands and you don’t want to leave
it on the surface either. Blotch it out on the area that you’ll be starting
with and gently work it back and forth. Already I can see that it is pulling off the
water spots and restoring that red shine. As I mentioned you don’t want to leave this
on the surface, so after I work it in I’ll take some water and neutralize the area. Now that I’ve thoroughly worked it into the
paint I’ll use some regular deionized water and spray it down. Using a clean microfiber towel it is easy
to wipe off the neutralized chemical. Now that I’m done buffing it off, I’ll take
the tape off so you guys can see the difference. Already it is a truly amazing shine. It can still stand to be polished but as far
as the water spots are concerned they are taken care of. If you guys want to learn more about these products, check it out on our website ChemicalGuys.com. If you like this video be sure to give it
a thumbs up and we’ll see you guys next time right here in the Detail Garage. You may notice I taped off the trim and that
is because the Water Spot Remover Gel can stain plastic and rubber pieces so as a precaution
tape it all off to avoid staining. Also, we pulled the car inside so it was nice
and cool because you don’t want to do this in direct sunlight, you want to control the surface temperature and you’ll get the best results.
