to fight alone try unlike many of the commanders I’ve looked at cigar de host of herons is a powerful creature that doesn’t necessarily scream any particular strategy as a commander well the new cigar de herons grace clearly wants you to play human tribal the original cigar de is much more open-ended as a bipod flyer for two of anything one green and two white she’s extremely efficient albeit with a strict color requirement she is also hex proof and she has the unique ability that protects you from being forced to sacrifice permanence a surprising amount of being evil things people do in commander involve making you sacrifice things does Moran of Clan Nell toss have a grave pact and is destroying her own creatures you can lap it off wave of betrayal it’ll pass right over you did someone drop a smokestack if you’ve somehow gotten cigar de out onto the battlefield already then they’ve made a critical error because she’s hex proof no one can target her with a regular targeted removable spell so there’s no getting her out of their way the sheer resilience of cigar de along with her beefy staff led me towards the voltron bill focusing on auras we plan to win the game by dishing out 21 commander damage to each opponent with an unstoppable cigar too backed by a stack of enchantment the inherent downside of auras is that if the creature dies the aura follows it to the graveyard and you end up with nothing cigar des has a reasonable chance of sticking around long enough to load her up with protective auras that make her near invulnerable the immunity to sacrifice is what makes me excited about cigar des as a whole commander over alternatives like your real the miss stalker or a peak of the many they give you more colors than a clear-cut way to make them bigger but when you only have the one creature being forced to sacrifice it ruins your day cigar des will be slower than the alternative but she opens the door to do a more controlling and ultimately overwhelming Voltron approach Green White has a ton of amazing auras that don’t see the light of day much because of their fragility and in this deck you get to play them all there have also been enough enchantments energy cards over the years to add a lot of power to the deck and enchantress and magic is a creature that lets you draw a card when you play an enchantment or Goffe an enchantress mesa enchantress ver durian enchantress cor spirit dancer I don’t want to blossom and Enchantress’s presence have been printed over the years these are what will keep you from running out of gas they’re not scary enough to draw out removal but getting one out early will keep your hand size full as you execute the rest of your game plan ramp is essential for getting our five man a commander out and loaded up with enchantments ASAP before your opponents have answers with green we have all the standard ramp options cultivate and cadeaux m’as reach being the standouts especially with a 5 mana commander but since we’ve got enchantment synergies in play and chanting lands becomes enticing fertile ground wild growth weirding woods utopia sprawl these all give you more mana while upping your enchantment count note that enchanted lands are a lot more fragile than just having lots of land so your mileage may vary but when it works it’s very nice burgeoning and exploration let you dump the lands you have onto the field faster bare Umbra and murari’s wakes both double your mana which always gets explosive bare Umbra in particular let’s you enchant cigar de ataque untap your lands immediately to drop more auras which feels great when you pull it off this effect is so powerful that it’s worth running short of feast and famine if you have it even though it’s off theme but I’d rather win wouldn’t you once you’ve played cigar des the first priority is to make her indestructible preferably redundantly there are lots of wrath of God accent commander and cigar disabilities offer no protection against that indestructibility shield of the Oversoul and shielded by faith will do the trick but that’s it for enchantment protecting cigar des from wrath is important enough that it’s worth going against theme for bastion protector and dark steel plate but we can’t stop there she needs more key word vigilance means you can keep cigar de up as a blocker and lifelink lets you effectively counteract any damage your opponents are doing to you trample and protection from creatures helps you get damaged past any pesky blockers perfect for when flying isn’t enough double stripe doubles your damage simple as that green and white offer plenty of options here from unflinching courage to armadillo cloak rancor and so on but daybreak coronet is a standout the restriction that you have to enchant a creature that’s already enchanted is not going to be a problem here and protip use the modern masters artwork because it depicts a cat wearing a scarf I don’t even need to explain how that is more powerful than the original ideally we want to be one shotting opponents to have a chance at closing the game out which means 21 commander damage this means we’ll need to get cigar to bigger so we’ll pump her based on our enchantment count with ancestral mask sages reverie I don’t want of countless battles and if you’re going to throw in equipment helm of the god with even one of these plus double strike you should have no trouble dishing out damage if you’re willing to mess with the lure Eldrazi conscription is the ultimate big enchantment let’s cigar to join her angelic sisters as an Eldrazi horror stomping all over the plane when this deck goes off you’ll have a giant indestructible life length vigilant unblockable cigar des on the field and then you can sit back and kill your opponents one at a time focusing on whoever looks likely to come up with an answer – cigar des or fire off an infinite combo when after you’ve done this once your play group isn’t going to let you do it a second time quite so easily so how are you going to protect yourself if you guessed with enchantments you’re right authority of the consoles and blind obedience slow your opponents down while gaining you some incremental life sphere of safety should make it Stickley impossible for anyone to attack you given the number of enchantments you control and ghostly prison does a reasonable impression of this dueling grounds will stop you from getting swarmed and let’s cigar to block anything they throw at you oblivion rein grasp of fate and similar let you deal with any pesky description below but there’s a couple distinct land choices for this deck I want to mention homeward path is a counter for insurrection and you may want to run wasteland and it’s built to deal with any arcane lighthouses anyone gets cheeky with full Tron builds aren’t for everyone but it can be nice to have a simple plan sometimes what I really like about cigar dies of Ultron commander is to focus on enchantments instead of the typical artifacts artifact destruction is much more common in commander than enchantment destruction and when combined with cigar does natural abilities we present a commander that is hard to stop the guard is amazing resiliency combined with the awesome power of auras make this a deck to be reckoned with I hope very much this video has been of some help to you I actually ran her for years as my main commander and ran a white/green angel deck, and thanks to that deck, I was dubbed the judge of the group, since I played a bunch of angels that stopped a ton of bs from going on, all while keeping my stuff safe and sound.
Mass Calcify is prolly a better option for a board wipe in this deck, wont ding your general.

Maybe try out Endrek Sahr? The ability to sacrifice permanents to draw cards, make other players sacrifice permanents, generate mana, and lock opponents out of the game is never something that isn't enjoyable
Man Im not sure if I am the only one on this but i would really like to see a Surrak Dragonclaw EDH deck tech. He is one of my favorite characters in MTG lore and i feel like people are intimated by him and because of that no effort goes into his decks. the guy can't be countered and creatures can't be countered, come on!

Prof, you should do a link from your decklists to the Card Kingdom website that autoloads the decks into the CK shopping cart (MTGGoldfish currently does this). It chooses the lowest prices, et cetera. As a frequent CK customer and a patron I would love to have an even easier way to support two of my favorite entities in the MTG community.

Another good aura in this situation would be add-on one-shot people with all the enchants you've got would be Ethereal Armor for that mini-Uril effect and first strike (FOR ONLY 1 MANA!), and maybe throw in original Avacyn for an extra blanket of indestructibility (especially against someone like me who runs a substantial enchantment destruction suite).

Maybe add entangler, let's sigarda block as many creatures as she wants, so if she gets indestructible you'd take near to no damage (trample and unblockqble though)

Would a Bruna, Light of Alabaster deck work similarly?
After playing with this deck for about a month, I can say that it is thoroughly enjoyable. It has it's weaknesses, being a Voltron strat, and I don't think it's running enough mana sources. Many of my losses are due to it taking forever to get five mana out onto the field. I've added in a number of cards to help deal with this (Mana Crypt, Divining Top, ect), but the build prof features here is pretty solid.

No Ethereal Armor? +1/+1 for each enchantment you control AND first strike, for one mana! Perfect for the deck.
To my surprised I ended liking this deck a lot, i have since modified it, geared towards 2+ multiplayer. I was curious of no mention of the enchantment gods? I added the gods, fleecemane lion, and more board wipes with the emphasis on the fact my creatures would be indestructible as I wipe board. Torpor orb and damping matrix also good mention, since the deck does not rely on "ETB" effects or activated abilities you can really shut down others (A lot of flicker/blink in my play grp cough looking at you deadeye navigator)

Why only the one Umbra?? They each give a boost, but Totem Armor on a Voltron commander focused on Auras seems like a must-include sub-theme. :/

When i play this deck in my group, all three opponent would play counterspells on sigarda since they know how dangerous she is. Wasn't fun

these are the qualities of a terrible commander playgroup, the format is supposed to be fun, casual, and inconsistent
trying to win so quickly and unstoppably in a way that forces your opponents to either reset the playing field or die immediately, or just stop playing with you is not fun

I'd say Uril is more practical in getting far bigger quicker, and has hexproof, a little more fickle with having to juggle 3 colors, but shouldn't be too hard to work with. Is prone to saccing.
Sigarda is great with hexproof, evasion, and not prone to being sac'd, as this video elaborates, can be very good, and is more consistent on getting out than Uril, however lacks the pumps that Uril can get.
Bruna is more expensive, only by one more colorless than sigarda, still evasive,.but no hexproof or anti sac makes her more fragile, and lack of Uril esque pumps, however if you can keep early game in check, and bring her out late game say T9 and mana provided confidently attach her with greaves, boots, indestructible enchantments, as well as/or vanishing or flicker form it's basically game over.
Zur, potentially the better of them.

For those that play this, you'll also want to have some land destruction lands to have an answer for Arcane Lighthouse. You'll also need some creature removal for those that play Archetype of Endurance. These two cards threaten and remove hexproof, opening Sigarda up to targeted destruction / exile spells.
Sigarda is the best, I have been playing diferent enchantress decks since 2004, when I came back to magic I discover Sigarda and fell in Love <3

Totem armor was overlooked in this video. It's pretty close to indestructible- close enough anyways- and they fall into WG color scheme, which is perfect. It will protect Sigarda and all but one of your auras from Wrath effects and there are a generous amount of them in the game- enough that they, combined with the other indestructibility granters in the video, should ensure that you rarely have a game where Sigarda gets blown out by the first board wipe someone plays.
Professor, I don't think you can use Blind Obedience in this deck because of it's colour identity. It has a hybrid mana symbol in the text box that is white/black.

114.1b Aura spells are always targeted. These are the only permanent spells with targets. An Aura’s target is specified by its enchant keyword ability (see rule 702.5, “Enchant”). The target(s) are chosen as the spell is cast; see rule 601.2c. An Aura permanent doesn’t target anything; only the spell is targeted. (An activated or triggered ability of an Aura permanent can also be targeted.)

Lol I totally built pretty much this exact deck by accident. I had a ton of green and white aura’s I wasn’t able to put in other stuff, and some cool creatures that interacted with auras. I built that, stole this sigarda from one of my selesyna decks that doesn’t need her, and bam.
